Albert Einstein, one of the great geniuses of our time, once commented, "A day without learning is a day wasted. There is so much to learn and so little time to learn it." He followed his own precept by continuing to work and study diligently until his death. Many other examples of great people who continued the learning process throughout their lives offer us beneficial inspiration.

Earth as a school
What is the purpose of our life on earth? Philosophers, spiritual leaders, and others often refer to the earth as a school for souls. A lifetime on earth may seem like a slow way to create a soul. But who is measuring time, anyway? Perhaps the important question is: how much progress can we make while in human form?

Various major religions have also referred to earth as a school. Buddhism, teaching that the life of the spirit transcends the life of man on earth, emphasizes that this life of the spirit is the true reality and the purpose of earth living is to grow spiritually through exercising free will, reason, love, prayer, and creativity.
