Scotland Awards

Our values award programme makes a significant contribution to the aspirations of A Curriculum for Excellence and provides an inspirational resource to help teach and develop the four capacities in young people. This experience helps young people from all backgrounds to identify and examine core values and qualities needed for a successful life and a positive future.

Now in it's fourth year, the Learning for Life Values Poster Award Programme is available free to every school in Scotland. Any school can apply and submit their best poster entries from S1-S4 year groups to the National Awards judging panel by the deadline 30th April 2009.

Learning for Life Values Poster Award can make a valuable contribution towards meeting the demands of both the National Curriculum and also the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification, in particular the Key Skills and Personal and Social Education elements. The programme is ideal for school pupils in years 8-11, as well as post-16.

Taking part in the programme can help young people realise what they want to achieve in life and gives them an opportunity to have a say about issues that affect them and the qualities they believe are important for a successful life. In particular this programme helps guide young people towards enjoying and achieving and�making a positive contribution.

In 2007/08 we piloted with several�Schools across the country and for 2008/09 we invite your school to apply. You can find out more information about the programme and an application form below.

Northern Ireland Awards

The programme is ideal for junior secondary school pupils Years 8-11.
