Saint Thomas Aquinas

Thomas Aquinas always wanted to be a priest but his family did not want him to do this. Thomas joined an order of monks called the Dominicans but his two brothers kidnapped him and brought him back to their family home and he was locked in a castle for nearly two years. The Pope at the time ordered his family not to stand in his way and allow him to go back to the monastery. Thomas wrote many books about the life and ideas that Jesus shared with us all. He also wrote some beautiful poems and songs which are still used in Church today. Saint Thomas Aquinas had many virtues some being Prudence, Courage (Fortitude), Faith and Hope.
