Saint Edward

Edward became King of England at the age of forty. He was a very generous to the poor and would often stand at his palace preaching to the sick and poor people who would gather to hear him. Edward was married to a saintly lady called Edith. They always attended Mass together and made sure that they went each day. Edward was responsible for making sure that many churches were built. His most famous being West Minister Abbey which was his last work. Many used to say that Edward was so kind that he would not say bad things about the meanest person.

Edward died on January 5th, 1065. In 1611 he was made a saint (canonized).

Among Edward's virtues are Faith, Hope and Love (Charity).
