Mary the Mother of Jesus

Mary was an only child. She loved Jesus very much. The name Mary means incense that rises to God. Mary was chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus and God sent the Angel Gabriel to ask her to do this very important task and thankfully Mary agreed.
Mary was there from the beginning of Jesus' life, when he was born in a stable in Bethlehem. Later on when he was a teenager, she was very worried when she lost him but found him preaching in the temple. Mary was also there with Jesus at a wedding in Cana. It was here that Jesus performed his first miracle and turned water into wine. Jesus did this after Mary had asked him to. Mary was there with St John at Calvary when Jesus was put to death. When Jesus rose from the dead at Easter, Mary waited for Jesus in an upper room to welcome him.
Mary was crowned Queen in heaven because she was Jesus' mother. She is Queen of all Saints and also our mother. When we pray to Mary we call her our mother and Blessed Mother.
Mary has many virtues amongst them are Prudence, Courage (Fortitude), Faith, Hope and Love (Charity).
