Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna of Russia

Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna of Russia was born to the Royal Russian family on May 29th 1897. She was the second daughter of Tsar Nicholas II who was the last monarch (King or Queen) of Russia.
She had three sisters and is better known than any of them because of her kind and good deeds for others. During her short lifetime she headed Red Cross committees during World War I. She nursed wounded soldiers in a military hospital from 1914 to 1917. Tatiana was practical and had a natural talent for leadership. Her sisters gave her the nickname "The Governess" and they sent her as their group representative when they wanted their parents to grant them extra treats. She was also closer to her mother than any of her sisters and was considered by many who knew her to be her mother's favourite daughter. Her mother's friend Anna Vyrubova later wrote that Tatiana had a great talent for making clothing, embroidery and crochet and that she dressed her mother's long hair as well as any professional hair stylist.
Although she was very rich Tatiana was very kind and often helped the poor.
Tatiana had a very sad ending to her life. Her family was arrested following the Russian Revolution of 1917. The whole family was murdered by revolutionaries on July 17, 1918. This resulted in her being named as a "Passion Bearer" by the Russian Orthodox Church.
Some of the virtues that Tatiana displayed throughout her short life were, Courage (Fortitude), Faith and Love.
