Using your Booklet

The Booklet is a Word document. You can carry out all the normal actions like typing text, pasting in text and inserting images. You probably know about all these, if not, your Teacher will help you.
Note: On your visit you may need to put your mouse over the page to bring up the four section headings
You'll see that the booklet is divided into four main sections. The first three are for the three types of Personal Qualities that you will be looking for:
bullet   Qualities to gain respect
bullet  Qualities for success in life
bullet  Qualities to help you to make friends.

bullet The last section is for your personal thoughts.

The Booklet is for you to use in two ways:
1.   As a place to keep notes and images whilst you are looking for ideas and information. It will be a good idea to put your notes into the section where they will be used.
2.   As the place to write up your project. When you come to this stage you can delete your rough notes as you go along.

Writing up your Project

Personal Qualities
Sections 1-3 are completed in the same way
1.   Start with section 1 Type or copy in the names of the two qualities which you think are the most important in each section. Then write a few words saying why each of these qualities is important to you.
2.   Now add the names of people that you admire. You can include pictures of them. Write a few words about each saying why that person has the sort of quality that you have chosen. What have they done or said that makes you think they have the qualities you want for yourself?

Your Personal Thoughts
This is the part which is up to you. Take your time, think first and don't rush.
Think about the six qualities you have chosen. Which is the most important for you? Think about your plans for the future. What sort of person do you want to be? What do you hope to do with your life and which quality is going to help you the most?
Have things happened in your life already which make you think this way? What were they?
Last of all, who is the most important person in your life? Who do you most want to be like? And why?

Time to be Creative

The booklet looks quite plain. But it doesn't have to stay that way. You can use your own ideas to make it look more exciting - different colours, borders, fonts, pictures - it's up to you. After you've finished, print out the pages and then you can add drawings of you own. Have fun!
